Hello, I'm Leticia!

I’m a dietitian from Brazil with expertise in vegetarian and vegan nutrition. I have a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from a highly recognized university in Brazil called Universidade Federal de Lavras, where I performed several extracurricular activities to learn everything I could about nutrition. I was an active member of GENEX – Study group in exercise and sports, and of NENUCLI, study group in clinical nutrition during my university. In my last year of graduation, I enrolled in the ISAK course where I gained the certificate of level 1 anthropometrist being able to provide accurate anthropometric assessments. Before finishing the nutrition university, I started a 2 years post-graduation course in vegetarian nutrition from the Vegetarian Brazilian Society.

I have been working as a dietitian and nutritionist since 2021. I started my own practice and worked at a gym in Brazil before moving to London. In my first year, I focused on obtaining HCPC recognition as a dietitian while working as a nutritional therapist. I had the opportunity to work in the NHS where I helped people with eating disorders, mental health, gut disorders, dementia, diabetes, obesity, cancer, dysphagia, high cholesterol, hypertension, malnutrition, IBS and other comorbidities.

With over 5 years of experience in nutrition, I've spent the past few years offering both face-to-face and online consultations. I specialize in helping people lose weight healthily and sustainably and guiding those interested in adopting a plant-based diet. My approach is simple, healthy, and affordable, helping you reach the best version of yourself.

This is my journey in plant-based nutrition

My journey with nutrition and plant-based diets began when I was just 14 years old. Due to my inactive lifestyle, I developed circulation problems and a syndrome called Raynaud's. Medical professionals advised me to start exercising, so I began weightlifting at a gym but I wasn't very serious about it.

Later in 2013 after high school, I was still unsure about my career path and got into engineering university in my hometown. It wasn't until my second semester that I started feeling a strong pull towards something health-related and I even considered physiotherapy, but it didn't excite me. Then one day, I saw a poster for a food technician course, and that really excited me. I started the course and learned about regulations, food industry, and the classes made me realise that my spark was NUTRITION. I was accepted to a highly regarded university in Brazil and had to move to a new city far from my family. Living on my own, I had to start taking care of my own food, and with the knowledge I was gaining, I started to see the positive effects of healthy eating on my body. I was going to the gym regularly and eating more vegetables and fruits and less red meat.

After two years of university, I went to Ireland for a program exchange to study and work. I ended up eating a lot of fast food and host mother's meals, which led to a gain weight of 10kg in 3 months and poor health.

Once I started having more control over my food choices, I returned to the gym and began eating healthier again. By the end of my trip, I had lost the weight gained.

Upon returning to Brazil, I had developed a lactose intolerance. I tried to eat less and sometimes no lactose dairy products for over a year, but eventually reached a point where I had to go to the hospital due to severe pain and one week of not eating. Around this time, I had a class about carbon footprints that blowed my mind and started questioning why we needed to eat so much meat. Brazil is a country where meat is a staple in almost every meal, and I wanted to change that.

In May of 2020, with the pandemic forcing me to stay at home, I decided to try a vegan diet for only 1 month and now here I’m after 3 years. I've been studying about it every single day since then and have even completed a two-year post-graduation course in vegetarian nutrition. My real passion is to combine all the benefits that food can bring, especially from plants.
